Rain location: River Arts, 74 Pleasant Street, 8 PM Join us at the first annual “Movies on the Oxbow!” The Morristown Alliance for Culture and Commerce (MACC) will be offering Morrisville residents and visitors an opportunity to watch some great films under the stars. The admission is free! Spend an evening in Morrisville and pick up dinner at one of the neighborhood's restaurants before the show. For those interested in a quick and delicious dinner option, The Bee's Knees is offering "picnic boxes" for sale. The boxes are available for pre-order by calling The Bee's Knees at 888-7889. (Orders need to be received by Thursday, July 17.)
General QuestionsWhere are we located? – The Oxbow is located near the intersection of Railroad St and Portland St in beautiful downtown Morrisville. Just follow the signs and head toward Guy’s Farm and Yard and you will see the Oxbow park. Where do I park? – Plenty of free parking is available at the Oxbow. How much does it cost? – Admission is free! (Donations will be accepted.) What time do the movies start? – At dusk – approximately 8:30 PM. General seating and picnicking begins at 7 PM. Where do I sit? Are blankets/chairs/seating provided? - A large grassy field is provided. Please bring blankets, pillow and low-back and high-back chairs. The seating area will be organized so that all viewers will be able to see the screen. Can we bring our own food and drink? – Yes! Please consider purchasing your meal in downtown Morrisville before you go. Some food items are available for purchase at the event -- popcorn, candy, water, soft drinks. Don’t forget to place your trash in the appropriate bins following the show. What about the weather? – It does get cold once the sun sets -- remember long pants and light jackets or hats. If rain is predicted, we will decide by 2 pm if we will move the showing indoors to River Arts, located at 74 Pleasant Street. A hotline number to call for updates will be provided soon. Are there bathrooms? – Yes, there are two porto-potties at the event, including one handicapped unit. Is this kid-friendly? – Absolutely! Movie ratings are G and PG – check movie descriptions for more information. Are dogs allowed? –Well-controlled and well-behaved dogs are allowed as long as they do not disturb audience members. Dogs are required to be on a leash and under control at all times. Owners must clean up after pets. What about alcohol? – The town of Morristown prohibits consumption of alcohol in the Oxbow. Do we have wheelchair access? – Yes. Handicapped seating will be provided as close to parking access as possible. A handicapped bathroom unit will be provided and located adjacent to other bathroom units.

The Morrisville Alliance for Culture and Commerce The Morristown Alliance for Culture and Commerce (MACC) was created in 1999 to help ensure a strong and viable downtown, north-end commercial district and riverfront in downtown Morrisville and Morristown. The volunteer-based nonprofit helps to preserve and revitalize Morristown through projects such as historic lampposts, new signage, flower pots, and events like the Festival of Lights and Movies on the Oxbow.
